A Minimum Wage Support of TRY 100 Per Insured Will Be Provided in 2022
Article 74 of Law No. 17, enacted in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on 01/07/2022, added Article 88 to the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510. Under this article, a minimum wage support will be provided for the July–December 2022 period for workplaces registered before 2022 where the daily premium base earnings are at or below TRY 179, TRY 358 for private-sector workplaces covered by collective agreements, and TRY 477 for coal and lignite mining workplaces, and for workplaces registered in 2022 for all insured persons subject to long-term insurance branches, calculated by multiplying the number of working days by TRY 3.33 per day.
If a shortfall in premium base earnings not exceeding one-tenth of the monthly gross minimum wage (TRY 647.1) for 2022 is detected, workplaces that remedy the deficiency within fifteen days following the SSI warning will continue to benefit from the minimum wage support.
The discount amount provided through minimum wage support will be offset against insurance premium debts arising in the following month(s).
